7th September, 2006 : SmartSMS now offers a portal for desktop application developers. You can easily integrate SmartSMS into your desktop application with just a few lines of code. 4th September, 2006 : Due to the large number of fictitious and bogus signups (eg name 'asdf' etc) we have suspended the automated signup process. For the time being, all signups will be routed through manual verification. You WILL receive a verification email IF the details in your signup are genuine. All signup's will be processed within 24 hours of receipt. We do NOT accept hotmail or gmail email addresses. Generally, we expect an email address to be in the same domain as the website that is registered.

SmartSMS has undergone a complete rewrite (yet again) to improve functionality. Now customers can trace their SmartSMS message from point of origin to confirm that it has been delivered.

Additional functionality now includes a 'SUSPEND' function that suspends the SMS functionality whilst retaining the backup email message. You can also customise a 'Suspend Message' which is an alternate text that is shown to your customers instead of the usual greeting. All functionality is fully customisable.

We are currently finalising the ability to create email addresses from your mobile phone number. For example 0418203010@smartsms.com.au or 123456789@yourdomain.com. This would transfer emails directly to your mobile phone. It is especially useful for stock exchange alerts (ASX etc), and far cheaper than conventional fees charged by trading platform suppliers.
